MorningPrayer Wednesday



Dear God,
It is not long, only a blink in time, actually,
that we must stay still. Stay in. Isolate, to protect ourselves and others.
Why then, does it seem so hard, so long?
Help us to be patient, to be gentle with ourselves, to mind our manners.
Take away our arrogance  and pride and humble us in soft resignation to this fate, this time in history.
Create in us a serenity and perseverance to maintain our space, but keeping you close. 
We welcome your presence and rest against you, O God.
AMEN

Good morning God,      Today is a sad troubling day for many of us. It is difficult to understand the choice of President that was made.   For the past year we have heard Trump express sentiments that are against everything we value and hold as moral in human relations. That he has been supported in his rhetoric is an indictment of our culture and people.   Do we really believe this, or were we pulled into political ranting and raving. It has been divisive, racist, sexist, mean-spirited and certainly not Christian in its focus and content. It is not the values that Jesus expressed or that the Bible shares of love, forgiveness, compassion and tolerance. I am dismayed and pessimistic about this choice.       It remains to be seen whether he truly means what he has said and will pull our country further down this path.   With your help, God, we ask the Holy Spirit to give us a large dose of wisdom, clarity and kindness.  We need to elevate our values of goodness, acceptance, understandi
