God of Power,
Power winds and rain swept in upon us, not the Holy Spirit, but pure nature moving and sweeping. Thank you for rain and the invigorating power that comes with it. We are glad that as far as I know, no injuries were sustained, that is always a blessing. So wherever and whenever nature roars, we stand humbled and in awe. May we always be in respect at the glory and strength of this earth and in our own vulnerability. In your presence and the Spirit voice we pray. AMEN

  Dear God,  The morning mist consumes much of the world in its shroud of unknowing.  But revealed is the rock on which I stand and the raft of safety if I venture forth. Good morning God,       Today is a sad troubling day for many of us. It is difficult to understand the choice of President that was made.   For the past year we have heard Trump express sentiments that are against everything we value and hold as moral in human relations. That he has been supported in his rhetoric is an indictment of our culture and people.   Do we really believe this, or were we pulled into political ranting and raving. It has been divisive, racist, sexist, mean-spirited and certainly not Christian in its focus and content. It is not the values that Jesus expressed or that the Bible shares of love, forgiveness, compassion and tolerance. I am dismayed and pessimistic about this choice.        It remains to be seen whether he truly means what he has said and will pull our country further down this path.   With your help, God, we ask the Holy Spirit to give us a large dose of wisdom, clarity and kindness.  We need to elevate our values of goodness, acceptance, understandi
