MorningPrayer Sunday

Lord God Most High,
  May the Holy Spirit come and infuse us with hope and power.  May we be embraced, enriched and enabled.  May the Spirit of flames and flight empower us to lift ourselves up and leap out of the muds of time and space and become like stars, shining and radiant in the  weary darkened world. May we be so filled with your spirit that we do not tire nor tremble and our love of life flows like pure water of an eternal spring.  Creative Holy Spirit, come. AMEN

Good morning God,      Today is a sad troubling day for many of us. It is difficult to understand the choice of President that was made.   For the past year we have heard Trump express sentiments that are against everything we value and hold as moral in human relations. That he has been supported in his rhetoric is an indictment of our culture and people.   Do we really believe this, or were we pulled into political ranting and raving. It has been divisive, racist, sexist, mean-spirited and certainly not Christian in its focus and content. It is not the values that Jesus expressed or that the Bible shares of love, forgiveness, compassion and tolerance. I am dismayed and pessimistic about this choice.       It remains to be seen whether he truly means what he has said and will pull our country further down this path.   With your help, God, we ask the Holy Spirit to give us a large dose of wisdom, clarity and kindness.  We need to elevate our values of goodness, acceptance, understandi
