MorningPrayer Saturday

Dear God,
    Help us to do the tedious things that need doing.  The tasks and chores that seem meaningless and bothersome but are yet so necessary for day to day existence.  And more than that, may we enjoy that moment, be mindful of the potential joy, be in the rhythm of doing and caring about the task.  May we do the dishes, wash the floor, weed the garden, make a business call with the same attention that you paint the sunset. AMEN

Good morning God,      Today is a sad troubling day for many of us. It is difficult to understand the choice of President that was made.   For the past year we have heard Trump express sentiments that are against everything we value and hold as moral in human relations. That he has been supported in his rhetoric is an indictment of our culture and people.   Do we really believe this, or were we pulled into political ranting and raving. It has been divisive, racist, sexist, mean-spirited and certainly not Christian in its focus and content. It is not the values that Jesus expressed or that the Bible shares of love, forgiveness, compassion and tolerance. I am dismayed and pessimistic about this choice.       It remains to be seen whether he truly means what he has said and will pull our country further down this path.   With your help, God, we ask the Holy Spirit to give us a large dose of wisdom, clarity and kindness.  We need to elevate our values of goodness, acceptance, understandi
