MorningPrayer Friday

Dear God,
    Be with us in understanding, acceptance and patience as we are confronted with the unknown and unexpected. Help us to be open minded.  Help us to be wise and discerning.  Help us to reach out with words of gentle harmony and a touch of compassion. Help our spirits to flow gently in the winds of uncertainty and to heal in the breath of the creative spirit.  Be with us, O God, as we live each day in your name and in your grace. AMEN

Good morning God,      Today is a sad troubling day for many of us. It is difficult to understand the choice of President that was made.   For the past year we have heard Trump express sentiments that are against everything we value and hold as moral in human relations. That he has been supported in his rhetoric is an indictment of our culture and people.   Do we really believe this, or were we pulled into political ranting and raving. It has been divisive, racist, sexist, mean-spirited and certainly not Christian in its focus and content. It is not the values that Jesus expressed or that the Bible shares of love, forgiveness, compassion and tolerance. I am dismayed and pessimistic about this choice.       It remains to be seen whether he truly means what he has said and will pull our country further down this path.   With your help, God, we ask the Holy Spirit to give us a large dose of wisdom, clarity and kindness.  We need to elevate our values of goodness, acceptance, understandi
