MorningPrayer Wednesday

Holy Lord,
   Is that a lullaby of the heart we hear; a melody of our soul sighing and dreaming? Is it an angel feather drifting and floating through the air, singing and murmuring the sounds of the universe expanding and loving. Is it the Spirit most Holy whispering to our spirit, words of encouragement and serene repose? Allow us, God, to float in meditative stillness, to rest our weary souls and heal our wounds. "Be still, and know God." AMEN

Good morning God,      Today is a sad troubling day for many of us. It is difficult to understand the choice of President that was made.   For the past year we have heard Trump express sentiments that are against everything we value and hold as moral in human relations. That he has been supported in his rhetoric is an indictment of our culture and people.   Do we really believe this, or were we pulled into political ranting and raving. It has been divisive, racist, sexist, mean-spirited and certainly not Christian in its focus and content. It is not the values that Jesus expressed or that the Bible shares of love, forgiveness, compassion and tolerance. I am dismayed and pessimistic about this choice.       It remains to be seen whether he truly means what he has said and will pull our country further down this path.   With your help, God, we ask the Holy Spirit to give us a large dose of wisdom, clarity and kindness.  We need to elevate our values of goodness, acceptance, understandi
