MorningPrayer Friday

Quiet Holy Lord,
   May we find a moment or maybe two, in our day to sit quietly and meditate; to let the silence enfold us like a warm blanket and hear the beating of our heart in our cosmic mind.  May our thoughts flow quietly like liquid silver and our eyes be visionary....wait, is that a diamond flickering light white in the grass green?... May we sign gentle sighs of kindness and redemption  and feel the Spirit so Holy filling our souls. Balanced in the peace of a thousand glittering seconds, we arise and be. AMEN

Good morning God,      Today is a sad troubling day for many of us. It is difficult to understand the choice of President that was made.   For the past year we have heard Trump express sentiments that are against everything we value and hold as moral in human relations. That he has been supported in his rhetoric is an indictment of our culture and people.   Do we really believe this, or were we pulled into political ranting and raving. It has been divisive, racist, sexist, mean-spirited and certainly not Christian in its focus and content. It is not the values that Jesus expressed or that the Bible shares of love, forgiveness, compassion and tolerance. I am dismayed and pessimistic about this choice.       It remains to be seen whether he truly means what he has said and will pull our country further down this path.   With your help, God, we ask the Holy Spirit to give us a large dose of wisdom, clarity and kindness.  We need to elevate our values of goodness, acceptance, understandi
