MorningPrayer Friday

Lord,
    Sometimes the storms of life threaten to swamp us.  The seas rise and the waves crash, the winds blow through our carefully constructed walls and we fill with fear. There is nowhere to flee and we have no fight left in us.  We can only float in faith, Lord, knowing that you will support us.  In the prayer of faith and the faith of prayer we surrender. Into your embrace we collapse, and instead of death we receive life.  Thank you God. AMEN

Good morning God,      Today is a sad troubling day for many of us. It is difficult to understand the choice of President that was made.   For the past year we have heard Trump express sentiments that are against everything we value and hold as moral in human relations. That he has been supported in his rhetoric is an indictment of our culture and people.   Do we really believe this, or were we pulled into political ranting and raving. It has been divisive, racist, sexist, mean-spirited and certainly not Christian in its focus and content. It is not the values that Jesus expressed or that the Bible shares of love, forgiveness, compassion and tolerance. I am dismayed and pessimistic about this choice.       It remains to be seen whether he truly means what he has said and will pull our country further down this path.   With your help, God, we ask the Holy Spirit to give us a large dose of wisdom, clarity and kindness.  We need to elevate our values of goodness, acceptance, understandi
