MorningPrayer Sunday

Creator Living God,
   The little song bird perching delicately lifts a glorious song into the morning air. It floats through the trees, wraps around buildings and coasts across the yard.  May we, also, in our small way, lift a song of praise and notes of hope and joy. May the ripples of our voice and our actions  bring happiness and wonder to all who hear and see.  May our individual melodies, fill the space around us with unique harmonies of grace and may vitality and joyful energy sing Alleluia. AMEN

Good morning God,      Today is a sad troubling day for many of us. It is difficult to understand the choice of President that was made.   For the past year we have heard Trump express sentiments that are against everything we value and hold as moral in human relations. That he has been supported in his rhetoric is an indictment of our culture and people.   Do we really believe this, or were we pulled into political ranting and raving. It has been divisive, racist, sexist, mean-spirited and certainly not Christian in its focus and content. It is not the values that Jesus expressed or that the Bible shares of love, forgiveness, compassion and tolerance. I am dismayed and pessimistic about this choice.       It remains to be seen whether he truly means what he has said and will pull our country further down this path.   With your help, God, we ask the Holy Spirit to give us a large dose of wisdom, clarity and kindness.  We need to elevate our values of goodness, acceptance, understandi
