MorningPrayer Saturday

Dear God,
   Send us music that heals and makes us whole.  Deep low bass tones from the organ chambers, hollowed out in the caverns of earth, that hold our bones together.  A melody that swings from the treetops and makes us smile.  A harmony from the waters of the seas that cause us to think and meditate in our hearts. A lilting descant from the wind blown clouds dancing in the atmosphere of our minds.  Please, God, send us our soul song of joy, mystery and peace. AMEN

Good morning God,      Today is a sad troubling day for many of us. It is difficult to understand the choice of President that was made.   For the past year we have heard Trump express sentiments that are against everything we value and hold as moral in human relations. That he has been supported in his rhetoric is an indictment of our culture and people.   Do we really believe this, or were we pulled into political ranting and raving. It has been divisive, racist, sexist, mean-spirited and certainly not Christian in its focus and content. It is not the values that Jesus expressed or that the Bible shares of love, forgiveness, compassion and tolerance. I am dismayed and pessimistic about this choice.       It remains to be seen whether he truly means what he has said and will pull our country further down this path.   With your help, God, we ask the Holy Spirit to give us a large dose of wisdom, clarity and kindness.  We need to elevate our values of goodness, acceptance, understandi
