MorningPrayer Monday

Dear God,
   Sometimes we are tired and weary.  We see suffering and pain and distress near by and far away.  We see abuse of people and misuse of our earth. Humanity lives in conflict of ideology, religion and race.  We have self doubts and depressing thoughts.  We wonder if there is any point to this life.  The routine seems mundane or is marred by problems.  But then, we turn to you in prayer and you help us to see more clearly. We see beauty and kindness.  We hear compassion and harmony.  We see love and experience grace. We give you thanks, God, for this world of wonder, mystery and faith. AMEN

Good morning God,      Today is a sad troubling day for many of us. It is difficult to understand the choice of President that was made.   For the past year we have heard Trump express sentiments that are against everything we value and hold as moral in human relations. That he has been supported in his rhetoric is an indictment of our culture and people.   Do we really believe this, or were we pulled into political ranting and raving. It has been divisive, racist, sexist, mean-spirited and certainly not Christian in its focus and content. It is not the values that Jesus expressed or that the Bible shares of love, forgiveness, compassion and tolerance. I am dismayed and pessimistic about this choice.       It remains to be seen whether he truly means what he has said and will pull our country further down this path.   With your help, God, we ask the Holy Spirit to give us a large dose of wisdom, clarity and kindness.  We need to elevate our values of goodness, acceptance, understandi
