MorningPrayer Wednesday


Dear God,
    Sometimes we grieve for that which we do not have or that which we have lost.  Our book cases are full and our desk is overflowing but we search endlessly for that one book or that one paper that will provide the clues to life.  Perhaps if we clear away the clutter and sit quietly in the emptiness of space, we will be embraced by the circle of light, walk through the fire  and in purity be free. Perhaps, it is now, in your sacred presence. AMEN

Good morning God,      Today is a sad troubling day for many of us. It is difficult to understand the choice of President that was made.   For the past year we have heard Trump express sentiments that are against everything we value and hold as moral in human relations. That he has been supported in his rhetoric is an indictment of our culture and people.   Do we really believe this, or were we pulled into political ranting and raving. It has been divisive, racist, sexist, mean-spirited and certainly not Christian in its focus and content. It is not the values that Jesus expressed or that the Bible shares of love, forgiveness, compassion and tolerance. I am dismayed and pessimistic about this choice.       It remains to be seen whether he truly means what he has said and will pull our country further down this path.   With your help, God, we ask the Holy Spirit to give us a large dose of wisdom, clarity and kindness.  We need to elevate our values of goodness, acceptance, understandi
