MorningPrayer Wednesday

Dear God,
   Sometimes our sight is locked within the chambers of our mind. We wander in the maze of thoughts and feelings, opening doors to claustrophobic closets and large rooms filled with echoing sounds. We grow weary in the dim light and our eyes glaze over. Unlock our sight, God. Set our minds eye upon outward things that expand our horizon and open our thoughts. Help us to see beyond ourselves into the possibilities of life unfolding. AMEN

Good morning God,      Today is a sad troubling day for many of us. It is difficult to understand the choice of President that was made.   For the past year we have heard Trump express sentiments that are against everything we value and hold as moral in human relations. That he has been supported in his rhetoric is an indictment of our culture and people.   Do we really believe this, or were we pulled into political ranting and raving. It has been divisive, racist, sexist, mean-spirited and certainly not Christian in its focus and content. It is not the values that Jesus expressed or that the Bible shares of love, forgiveness, compassion and tolerance. I am dismayed and pessimistic about this choice.       It remains to be seen whether he truly means what he has said and will pull our country further down this path.   With your help, God, we ask the Holy Spirit to give us a large dose of wisdom, clarity and kindness.  We need to elevate our values of goodness, acceptance, understandi
