MorningPrayer Friday

Good Morning, a personal prayer.  My mother's husband, Stan Stultz died last evening.

Dear God,
    In your Holiness and love, we lift up our hearts in prayer.  The line between life and death is thin and we, your people, are fragile  In sadness and loss many feel alone in this moment and fearful of the future.   Embrace us in your loving grace and enfold us with angel wings of infinite compassion and melodies of sweet eternal life. May the gift of Christmas lodge in all of our hearts and the Christ child be the gift of hope and joy now and forevermore. AMEN

Good morning God,      Today is a sad troubling day for many of us. It is difficult to understand the choice of President that was made.   For the past year we have heard Trump express sentiments that are against everything we value and hold as moral in human relations. That he has been supported in his rhetoric is an indictment of our culture and people.   Do we really believe this, or were we pulled into political ranting and raving. It has been divisive, racist, sexist, mean-spirited and certainly not Christian in its focus and content. It is not the values that Jesus expressed or that the Bible shares of love, forgiveness, compassion and tolerance. I am dismayed and pessimistic about this choice.       It remains to be seen whether he truly means what he has said and will pull our country further down this path.   With your help, God, we ask the Holy Spirit to give us a large dose of wisdom, clarity and kindness.  We need to elevate our values of goodness, acceptance, understandi
