MorningPrayer Friday



Dear God,
Like creatures in the field, we are sometimes, woolly, cuddly soft and sweet. 
 But we are also scared, run when frightened and get ourselves into trouble
 like falling into holes or over cliffs. 
 But, how fortunate we are, 
you provide for us meadows green and water pure. 
 You care for us and guide us in safety and kindness all the days of our lives. 
 You prepare for us a shelter of many rooms for our future life and joy.  
Thank you, God, for all you do, 
AMEN

Good morning God,      Today is a sad troubling day for many of us. It is difficult to understand the choice of President that was made.   For the past year we have heard Trump express sentiments that are against everything we value and hold as moral in human relations. That he has been supported in his rhetoric is an indictment of our culture and people.   Do we really believe this, or were we pulled into political ranting and raving. It has been divisive, racist, sexist, mean-spirited and certainly not Christian in its focus and content. It is not the values that Jesus expressed or that the Bible shares of love, forgiveness, compassion and tolerance. I am dismayed and pessimistic about this choice.       It remains to be seen whether he truly means what he has said and will pull our country further down this path.   With your help, God, we ask the Holy Spirit to give us a large dose of wisdom, clarity and kindness.  We need to elevate our values of goodness, acceptance, understandi
