MorningPrayer March 10, 2018

Dear Fellow Prayer, I am launching a new daily prayer.
In the past, my prayers were written first and a picture added.  For this series, I am picking a picture and allowing the photo to provide the inspiration for the prayer.

Dear God,
Sometimes we are caught between the old and the new,
between that which was and that which is.
Sometimes our mind is obstructed by old memories
 that get in the way of new experiences.
Help us, O God, to cherish the past and learn from it
as we live fully in the present.
May we grow in the Spirit of wonder and mystery 
as we embrace the opportunities given us.
AMEN

Good morning God,      Today is a sad troubling day for many of us. It is difficult to understand the choice of President that was made.   For the past year we have heard Trump express sentiments that are against everything we value and hold as moral in human relations. That he has been supported in his rhetoric is an indictment of our culture and people.   Do we really believe this, or were we pulled into political ranting and raving. It has been divisive, racist, sexist, mean-spirited and certainly not Christian in its focus and content. It is not the values that Jesus expressed or that the Bible shares of love, forgiveness, compassion and tolerance. I am dismayed and pessimistic about this choice.       It remains to be seen whether he truly means what he has said and will pull our country further down this path.   With your help, God, we ask the Holy Spirit to give us a large dose of wisdom, clarity and kindness.  We need to elevate our values of goodness, acceptance, understandi
