MorningPrayer Tuesday


Dear God,
Somewhere in the distance is that home we long for,
 overlooking the sea and gleaming in the sun.
The road ahead might appear treacherous, hugging the cliffs edge and disappearing from sight, 
but your guardrails protect us and we trust in the pathway you have laid out for us.
 And so, in faith, we continue our journey, 
for not only do we love the experience 
but we have glimpsed our destination and paradise awaits us. 
AMEN

Good morning God,      Today is a sad troubling day for many of us. It is difficult to understand the choice of President that was made.   For the past year we have heard Trump express sentiments that are against everything we value and hold as moral in human relations. That he has been supported in his rhetoric is an indictment of our culture and people.   Do we really believe this, or were we pulled into political ranting and raving. It has been divisive, racist, sexist, mean-spirited and certainly not Christian in its focus and content. It is not the values that Jesus expressed or that the Bible shares of love, forgiveness, compassion and tolerance. I am dismayed and pessimistic about this choice.       It remains to be seen whether he truly means what he has said and will pull our country further down this path.   With your help, God, we ask the Holy Spirit to give us a large dose of wisdom, clarity and kindness.  We need to elevate our values of goodness, acceptance, understandi
