MorningPrayer Friday

Holy God,
      In our prayer may we close our eyes and listen to the still hush of the universe breathing.  In the center of our chest attend to our breath and our heart. Whisper to us the sounds of life in our lungs and the beating of our heart of ages, the magic and the mystery of your being in us.  May the Holy Spirit fill our spirit and attend to the delight of our souls. For truly, we are vessels of your infinite presence and vehicles of your eternal love. AMEN

Good morning God,      Today is a sad troubling day for many of us. It is difficult to understand the choice of President that was made.   For the past year we have heard Trump express sentiments that are against everything we value and hold as moral in human relations. That he has been supported in his rhetoric is an indictment of our culture and people.   Do we really believe this, or were we pulled into political ranting and raving. It has been divisive, racist, sexist, mean-spirited and certainly not Christian in its focus and content. It is not the values that Jesus expressed or that the Bible shares of love, forgiveness, compassion and tolerance. I am dismayed and pessimistic about this choice.       It remains to be seen whether he truly means what he has said and will pull our country further down this path.   With your help, God, we ask the Holy Spirit to give us a large dose of wisdom, clarity and kindness.  We need to elevate our values of goodness, acceptance, understandi
