MorningPrayer Thursday

Hey God,
     I wondered about the wisdom of getting out of bed today:  If we do, then mistakes could be made, our muscles might get sore, we would use up resources like food and water, we might have to make decisions and face consequences, it sounds like a lot of work and effort...
     And then the dog jumped on the bed to go out, the cats started running and clawing, the roosters crowed, the donkey brayed, the sun shone in the window, the phone rang, and...
     Well, wish us luck with the day, and stick with us, O.K.

There are days like that and days I ask for help just making it through the day. Thanks for the beautiful prayer.

Good morning God,      Today is a sad troubling day for many of us. It is difficult to understand the choice of President that was made.   For the past year we have heard Trump express sentiments that are against everything we value and hold as moral in human relations. That he has been supported in his rhetoric is an indictment of our culture and people.   Do we really believe this, or were we pulled into political ranting and raving. It has been divisive, racist, sexist, mean-spirited and certainly not Christian in its focus and content. It is not the values that Jesus expressed or that the Bible shares of love, forgiveness, compassion and tolerance. I am dismayed and pessimistic about this choice.       It remains to be seen whether he truly means what he has said and will pull our country further down this path.   With your help, God, we ask the Holy Spirit to give us a large dose of wisdom, clarity and kindness.  We need to elevate our values of goodness, acceptance, understandi
