MorningPrayer Tuesday

Dear God,
     May we walk in goodness and beauty.  May the scent of lemon and roses float from our journey and may we be the bearer of angels singing and harps playing.  May our eyes scatter rainbows and sunsets magnificent across the skies and may we fold our hands in awe at the night sky shimmering and twinkling. May our taste buds offer the hope of fresh baked bread and our minds the vision of broken chains and equal rights.  In all things, O God, may we be in your image and be the servants of Jesus, AMEN

Good morning God,      Today is a sad troubling day for many of us. It is difficult to understand the choice of President that was made.   For the past year we have heard Trump express sentiments that are against everything we value and hold as moral in human relations. That he has been supported in his rhetoric is an indictment of our culture and people.   Do we really believe this, or were we pulled into political ranting and raving. It has been divisive, racist, sexist, mean-spirited and certainly not Christian in its focus and content. It is not the values that Jesus expressed or that the Bible shares of love, forgiveness, compassion and tolerance. I am dismayed and pessimistic about this choice.       It remains to be seen whether he truly means what he has said and will pull our country further down this path.   With your help, God, we ask the Holy Spirit to give us a large dose of wisdom, clarity and kindness.  We need to elevate our values of goodness, acceptance, understandi
