MorningPrayer Saturday

Dear God,
     Help us to believe in ourselves as people of your wisdom, strength and purpose.  Clear away the underbrush of doubt and let us be a pristine forest of clear growth and life abundant. May the thorns and vines that ensnare and tangle us, be burned away in the fire of your Spirit as we are clarified with new understanding and faith in the cause of justice and righteousness.  May happiness and blessing follow us and our loved ones, all the days of our life. AMEN

Good morning God,      Today is a sad troubling day for many of us. It is difficult to understand the choice of President that was made.   For the past year we have heard Trump express sentiments that are against everything we value and hold as moral in human relations. That he has been supported in his rhetoric is an indictment of our culture and people.   Do we really believe this, or were we pulled into political ranting and raving. It has been divisive, racist, sexist, mean-spirited and certainly not Christian in its focus and content. It is not the values that Jesus expressed or that the Bible shares of love, forgiveness, compassion and tolerance. I am dismayed and pessimistic about this choice.       It remains to be seen whether he truly means what he has said and will pull our country further down this path.   With your help, God, we ask the Holy Spirit to give us a large dose of wisdom, clarity and kindness.  We need to elevate our values of goodness, acceptance, understandi
