MorningPrayer Thursday

Dear God,
     Let us be part of the rhythm of life, the segmented spiraled chambers that live in harmony and support of one another.  May each of us be a cell connected to the world around us, aware of our independence but also awakened to our dependency on each other. Help us, God, to live in this  unity of purpose and meaning so that we might end conflicts and divisions and give and receive life to one another. AMEN

Good morning God,      Today is a sad troubling day for many of us. It is difficult to understand the choice of President that was made.   For the past year we have heard Trump express sentiments that are against everything we value and hold as moral in human relations. That he has been supported in his rhetoric is an indictment of our culture and people.   Do we really believe this, or were we pulled into political ranting and raving. It has been divisive, racist, sexist, mean-spirited and certainly not Christian in its focus and content. It is not the values that Jesus expressed or that the Bible shares of love, forgiveness, compassion and tolerance. I am dismayed and pessimistic about this choice.       It remains to be seen whether he truly means what he has said and will pull our country further down this path.   With your help, God, we ask the Holy Spirit to give us a large dose of wisdom, clarity and kindness.  We need to elevate our values of goodness, acceptance, understandi
