MorningPrayer Wednesday

Dear God,
     As we reflect upon our past, we see a life patterned like a crazy quilt; the people and events of our minds sewn together in a pattern both random and sublime.  Our memories and the individuals who make up our history are stitched and blended in contrast and unity to form our present.  Let us be grateful and thankful for the quilting of our lives and as we continue to piece the quilt, might we do so with thought and love. AMEN

Good morning God,      Today is a sad troubling day for many of us. It is difficult to understand the choice of President that was made.   For the past year we have heard Trump express sentiments that are against everything we value and hold as moral in human relations. That he has been supported in his rhetoric is an indictment of our culture and people.   Do we really believe this, or were we pulled into political ranting and raving. It has been divisive, racist, sexist, mean-spirited and certainly not Christian in its focus and content. It is not the values that Jesus expressed or that the Bible shares of love, forgiveness, compassion and tolerance. I am dismayed and pessimistic about this choice.       It remains to be seen whether he truly means what he has said and will pull our country further down this path.   With your help, God, we ask the Holy Spirit to give us a large dose of wisdom, clarity and kindness.  We need to elevate our values of goodness, acceptance, understandi
