MorningPrayer Friday

Dear God,
     Thank you.  So many of us are fortunate and blessed.  We have freedom of faith and freedom of thought and we have space to be who we are.  Thank you for food that fills us full and for warmth of clothes and housing that keeps us comfortable.  Thank you for water clean and for air bright. Thank you for resources of mind and spirit that kindle in us imagination and creativity.  Thank you for the birds that sing and thank you for everything.  Let us not take anything for granted. AMEN

Good morning God,      Today is a sad troubling day for many of us. It is difficult to understand the choice of President that was made.   For the past year we have heard Trump express sentiments that are against everything we value and hold as moral in human relations. That he has been supported in his rhetoric is an indictment of our culture and people.   Do we really believe this, or were we pulled into political ranting and raving. It has been divisive, racist, sexist, mean-spirited and certainly not Christian in its focus and content. It is not the values that Jesus expressed or that the Bible shares of love, forgiveness, compassion and tolerance. I am dismayed and pessimistic about this choice.       It remains to be seen whether he truly means what he has said and will pull our country further down this path.   With your help, God, we ask the Holy Spirit to give us a large dose of wisdom, clarity and kindness.  We need to elevate our values of goodness, acceptance, understandi
