MorningPrayer Saturday

Dear God,
     Our earth is big and our universe endless.  We wonder sometimes how important we might be.  I guess, within our own very small community we have significance, but even that is fleeting. And yet, you have given us life and here we are.  There is something so very precious about that fact and so unique about each one of us that we do quiver with anticipation. So, we choose a life of thanks and praise, of compassion and service.  We choose meaning and you, our God. AMEN

Good morning God,      Today is a sad troubling day for many of us. It is difficult to understand the choice of President that was made.   For the past year we have heard Trump express sentiments that are against everything we value and hold as moral in human relations. That he has been supported in his rhetoric is an indictment of our culture and people.   Do we really believe this, or were we pulled into political ranting and raving. It has been divisive, racist, sexist, mean-spirited and certainly not Christian in its focus and content. It is not the values that Jesus expressed or that the Bible shares of love, forgiveness, compassion and tolerance. I am dismayed and pessimistic about this choice.       It remains to be seen whether he truly means what he has said and will pull our country further down this path.   With your help, God, we ask the Holy Spirit to give us a large dose of wisdom, clarity and kindness.  We need to elevate our values of goodness, acceptance, understandi
